A World of My Own
Mixed media on panel
20" x 20"
Bands of navy, lilac, saffron and peach stream across the panel like a sky at the edge of the day, and inside that sky, a private world blooms. A mint and aqua flower opens at the upper right, lit with yellow at its heart and flecked with black. Its stem curls down in deep teal, flowing into a dark, marbled cloud full of fine white veins and tiny cells. A bright yellow island glows to the left, and along the bottom a few black strokes and dots float like notes on a staff. Working without a plan, Mandie followed each pour wherever it led, and the composition grew on its own terms. The whole piece feels joyful and self-contained, a world made entirely in her own colors.
Keeping this painting nearby is like having a private daydream on the wall. Place it in a bedroom, a home office or a reading nook, where its sunset bands can be enjoyed at leisure. Lilac, saffron and navy accents, along with soft velvet, carry its palette gently through the room.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
