Mixed media and resin on panel
12" x 12"
A red sky burns above a dark blue sea, and through it streaks a ribbon of molten yellow, flaring at the right into a blazing orange sun. Below the horizon, a band of lime and turquoise gives way to deep cobalt water, where black silhouettes glide like fins or boats slipping out of sight. The resin surface is clear and glassy, deepening every color, while fine vertical streaks in the sky and pale golden gaps in the water catch the light. Mandie poured the layers and left them to settle into a scene she discovered rather than planned. It is like watching something precious drift away at sunset, beautiful and tender.
Small yet intense, its fiery sky and deep sea give real drama to a study, a bookshelf or a gallery wall. Dark wood, deep blue accents and a single warm lamp heighten its glow, letting its quiet power fill a modest corner.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
