Color glows in bands across the surface like light rippling over a northern sky. At the top, turquoise turns to a deep wine red, then to a broad stripe of saffron gold that seems lit from behind. Coral flares along the left edge, a thin streak of cobalt passes through the middle, and below, darkness settles into a deep, near-black pool edged by spring green and bright lemon. The entire surface is alive with tiny bubbles, pits and pores, so it shimmers and changes as you move around it. Mandie poured layer over layer and let the materials react and bubble on their own. The result feels electric and alive, a glimpse of wonder breaking through the night.
Luminous bands of color make this a lovely focal point for a bedroom, a study or the wall at the end of a hallway. Its turquoise, wine and saffron feel rich with dark walnut, jewel-toned velvet and a brass lamp, and they glow beautifully at twilight.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
