Mixed media on panel
10" x 10"
Half light, half night, and perfectly at ease with both. The upper half of the panel glows with pale butter yellow, brushed in soft horizontal sweeps and spattered with golden flecks like pollen on the breeze. Below a clean horizon, a deep black ground opens up, bursting with white and gold sparks that fan out in fine starburst lines, as if fireworks were going off over a dark field. The surface has a lovely tactile quality, smooth in the dark and gently textured in the light. Mandie flicked and splattered the paint with a free, playful wrist, letting each drop find its place. The result feels calm and centered, a gentle meeting of joy and stillness.
Half day, half night, it is a lovely piece for a desk or a bedside, a small reminder to make room for both. Set it on a walnut shelf or hang it in a gallery wall grouping, where warm lamplight brings out its pale gold and deep blue.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
