Before We Drifted
Mixed media on panel
10" x 10"
A large navy form drifts across a speckled blue sky, rounded and soft as a cloud or a sleeping creature. Inside it, swirls of turquoise and seafoam move like light under water, with small bubbles caught in the glossy pour. Around it, a snowfall of white spray scatters in every direction, while warm glows of sunny yellow and orange rise from behind, and a burst of tangerine speckles lands in the lower corner. Mandie poured the central shape and watched it spread and settle, then sprayed the bright colors and white flecks freely around it. There is a sweetness here, a moment of closeness held just before things began to move apart.
Tuck it onto a nightstand, a shelf, or a small wall beside the bed, where its soft navy form can keep you company. Pair it with blue and white ceramics, a linen lampshade, and a stack of books for a calm and personal little corner.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
