Blessing
Mixed media on canvas
20" x 20"
Rings within rings draw the eye toward a single glowing center. Behind them, the canvas moves through a full spectrum, from warm coral at the top through apricot, butter yellow and soft green, down to turquoise and a deep band of indigo. Over this sprayed rainbow sit circles of painted red wood and slim silver hoops, nested one inside the next like ripples spreading from a stone dropped in still water. At the heart, a small red mark is pressed into the surface like a seal. Mandie gathered these found rings and let them float over the softly sprayed color, building depth with real objects instead of illusion. The piece radiates outward with quiet generosity, a circle of grace widening to hold everything around it.
Near a sunny window, its rings of coral, butter and blue seem to radiate even more warmth. It brings an uplifting glow to a living room, an entry or a quiet corner for reflection, with pale plaster, woven textures and plants enhancing its calm.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
