Blue Rebellion
Mixed media on panel
36" x 36"
Cobalt crashes into the center of the panel and spreads in every direction, a deep, defiant blue that will not stay inside any lines. Ribbons of scarlet chase its edges and trail off across the lower half in rough, textured loops, while a band of red and orange burns along the top. Behind it all, a teal ground is streaked with countless drips running downward in yellow, red and pale blue, like rain streaming down a window. Small islands of mint and speckled gold float within the storm. Mandie flung the blue in one bold movement, then let it find its own shape as it moved. It is a painting of spirit and fearless independence.
Confident and full of spirit, this canvas commands attention in a modern living room or a creative office. Let it play against crisp white walls and black steel, or ground it with navy leather seating and a red ceramic piece that answers its fiery edges.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
