Blue Sun Rising
Mixed media on panel
36" x 36"
A great blue orb hangs at the top of the panel, its surface churned into swirls and ridges like a planet still cooling from its making. Below it, the world wakes in a blaze: lemon yellow, tangerine and a flare of red-orange spread across a field of green and turquoise, while an icy pale crescent sweeps up the right side, flecked with spray like stars. A fan of combed blue lines rises from the lower left, and a patch of golden pour has crackled into fine veins. Mandie layered and scraped, poured and sprayed, trusting each material to answer the last. It feels like dawn on a world no one has seen yet, bright with promise.
Grand in scale, Blue Sun Rising commands a living room wall, a stairwell, or the space above a dining sideboard. Deep blue velvet, polished stone, and warm brass accents echo its planetary orb and make the whole room feel expansive.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
