Brave Colors
Mixed media on panel
30" x 24"
A great wave of color charges across a pale silver ground. Its upper edge burns in flame orange and red, ragged and bold, then melts through gold and chartreuse into a deep cobalt that swells along the lower side. Inside the pour, the colors twist and lace together in fine, flickering trails, as if fire and water had agreed to move as one. Behind it, a curtain of slender drips falls quietly from a multicolored band along the top. Mandie poured in one courageous sweep and let the blend find its own boundaries. The painting feels fearless and wholehearted, color daring to take up all the room it needs.
Courage is contagious, which makes Brave Colors a great companion for a home office, a family room, or an entry. Pale silver walls, charcoal furniture, and a few fiery orange accents echo its charging wave of color and keep the room feeling bold.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
