Carry Me II
Mixed media on canvas
48" x 30"
Heat rises through this painting like a flame carried on the wind. A loose column of red, orange and golden yellow leans across the canvas, framed by rough, sprayed edges of turquoise that feel almost like sea foam. Threads of bright green branch through the warm colors in lacy, root-like patterns, and fine spatters fly off to the right. The ground is white, with warm, wood-toned planes anchoring two corners. Here the pour is wilder and more open than its companions, splitting into channels and pools wherever the paint ran thick. Mandie let the colors collide and mingle, welcoming each tangle. The result is passionate and alive, full of warmth that refuses to be contained.
Warmth radiates from this canvas, so give it a prominent spot in a living or dining room. Terracotta, rust, and golden textiles, along with dark wood and warm evening light, deepen its glow. It also pairs beautifully with Carry Me I and III.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
