Clair de Lune
Mixed media on canvas
48" x 36"
A bright diagonal edge divides the canvas into two worlds. Above and to the left, a pale ivory field is stamped with soft gray blocks, like the windows of a sleeping city glimpsed through haze. Below and to the right, a deep slate blue night unfolds, dusted with silver sparkle and wisps of white that drift like moonlit cloud. Near the bottom, a single slim dark crescent hangs in the stillness. Mandie sprayed through and around found shapes, letting the mist land unevenly so each block glows with a different softness. The painting feels like a slow piano melody heard through an open window, tender, luminous and a little melancholy, the night holding its own kind of grace.
Slate blue walls, ivory linen and silvered accents reflect its moonlit palette. Calm and nocturnal, it brings quiet elegance to a primary bedroom, a library or a dining room lit by candles, and a piano nearby would suit its musical name beautifully.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
