Climbing
Mixed media on panel
24" x 24"
A ridge of color rises diagonally across the panel, ledge by ledge, each crest marked with fine white combed lines like frost on a mountain shelf. Lavender, cobalt, dusty rose and slate flow through it in long marbled currents, while bright lime and emerald cling to its right flank like new growth on a hillside. On either side the light changes: a sweep of lemon yellow to the left, warm saffron and ochre to the right, softly sprayed and dripping. Mandie pulled the paint upward in repeated strokes, letting it marble and trail as it went. Every step feels earned, and the summit glows just ahead.
Stair landings and home offices suit Climbing, a painting about steady progress. Lavender and dusty blue textiles, cool stone, and pale oak complement its layered ridges and frosty highlights, giving the space a crisp, clear mountain air freshness every morning.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
