Coastline Memory

The view could be an aerial photograph of a shoreline at the height of summer. A flame of red crowns the top, cascading into cream and buttery yellow speckled with orange, then through bands of mint, aqua and sky until it settles in a deep cobalt that seeps into violet at the bottom. At the heart, a small turquoise and amber swirl looks like a cove or a hidden eye. The deep blue ground frames it all like open ocean. Mandie poured and tilted, letting each color flow down and into the next, with the speckles and swirls forming on their own. It has the sweet ache of a place once loved and still remembered in vivid color.
Hang it where you dream about your next trip, perhaps a home office or the hallway leading to the guest room. Its shoreline colors, from warm red to cobalt, sit easily with sandy neutrals, rope details, rattan and a few treasured shells.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
