Mixed media on canvas
36" x 36"
Soft fields of color drift together like the patchwork of a peaceful afternoon: dusty blue and deep navy at the top left, teal and violet below, a wash of rosy lavender, and a broad glow of yellow crowned by a faint peach sun. Fine spray gives every edge a velvety grain. Into this hush come small, bright moments: glossy squiggles of gold dancing at the right, slender dark lines and drips falling at the upper left, and a delicate sunburst scratched into the magenta corner. Mandie sprayed, poured and drew with no fixed plan, trusting each layer to suggest the next. Nothing strains, nothing hurries. It is the deep, quiet ease of having enough.
Easy to live with, its patchwork of blue, lavender and soft yellow brings a gentle glow to a family room or a primary bedroom. A slipcovered sofa, a faded vintage rug and warm evening lamplight suit it well, just when its velvety edges feel softest.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
