Delicate
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
Rows of tiny circles drift down this slender panel in soft pearl gray and silver, like raindrops on a windowpane or bubbles rising through still water. Some are crisp and dark edged, others barely whispered, fading into a cloudy white ground that shifts gently from cool to warm. The pattern is regular yet never mechanical: each ring is a little different, slightly smudged or broken. Mandie pressed a bubbled texture into the paint and let it lift away, leaving delicate impressions behind. Quiet and refined, the work rewards a close look, holding a fragile, airy beauty that feels as light as a breath.
Narrow spaces are its specialty: beside a mirror, between windows, along a bathroom wall. Pearl gray, silver accents, and soft linen let the gentle rows of circles in Delicate shimmer quietly, especially in the cool, even glow of north light.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
