Dizzy With Joy
Mixed media on canvas
48" x 48"
Ribbons of bright lemon yellow whirl across the canvas, and inside them, loops and spirals spin like springs, curling over a dreamy ground of blue, lilac and peach. The yellow is sprayed in quick, looping motions, so the circles blur and overlap as if caught mid-twirl. Between the bands, cooler patches of cobalt and teal peek through, along with soft blushes of pink and apricot. The whole surface vibrates with movement, the eye never quite able to rest. Mandie sprayed with fast, playful circles, letting her arm swing freely and the spirals fall where they would. It is a painting that spins with happiness, the giddy, laughing kind that makes the room feel lighter.
Happy and buoyant, it gives a child's room, a playroom or a sunny kitchen instant cheer. Lilac and peach textiles, rattan and pale wood bring out its dreamy ground, and its whirling lemon loops make every morning feel a little lighter.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
