Easy Summer
Mixed media on panel
11" x 14"
Lime, sunflower yellow and grass green stretch lazily across a soft white field, the slow, unhurried lines of a long afternoon with nowhere to be. Between them, a thin streak of tangerine and two wavy shapes of deep cherry drift like kites on a warm wind. Black anchors the bottom edge, and two dark clouds float near the top, just enough shadow to make the brights sing. The yellow lies thick and creamy, rounding off at its ends. Mandie let each pour find its length without rushing it, and the whole painting relaxes into that rhythm. It feels like bare feet on warm grass and the sweetness of days that seem to last forever.
Lazy afternoons are its specialty. Hang it in a sunroom, a kitchen or a guest bedroom ready for summer visitors. The lime, sunflower and cherry pair cheerfully with wicker, striped cushions, white walls and fresh flowers in a clear glass jar.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
