Mixed media on canvas
24" x 24"
Four squares meet at the center, two of deep cobalt and two of dark, tangled shadow, and across them a pale butter yellow pour spreads like an open pair of arms. Its edges burst into splashes and droplets, and turquoise lace runs through its surface. In the darker quadrants, black, teal and violet are scraped and streaked into sharp, restless shapes, a world of tension and night. The yellow crosses every seam, linking the light and the dark in a single flowing gesture. Mandie built the shadowy layers first, then poured the light over them and let it travel. It is a painting about holding someone close through hard times, and the warmth that reaches across any divide.
Over a bed, a sideboard or a deep sofa, this square canvas offers a comforting, balanced presence. Deep cobalt and butter yellow look rich against warm white or charcoal walls, especially when paired with velvet, walnut and one or two gilded details.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
