Evening Light
Mixed media on panel
24" x 12"
At dusk the light turns golden and everything softens. Down the length of this tall panel, a broad cross of marbled jade and emerald stands firm, its center veined with raspberry red like a warm heart beating beneath the surface. Behind it, peach and mustard pour from the top and break into slender ribbons of yellow, lime and violet that run all the way to the bottom over a deep slate ground. The poured form is alive with cells and lacy patterns where the colors swirled and settled on their own. Mandie let the paint move freely around a simple, steady shape, and the contrast feels like grace arriving at the end of a long day.
Golden hour makes this vertical canvas glow, so consider a spot near a west facing window or beside a warm table lamp. Jade and emerald suit deep green walls, brass and walnut, whether in a study, a dining room or an elegant hallway.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
