Evensong
Mixed media on panel
36" x 36"
Two moods meet at the end of the day. On the left, a strip of clear sky blue drips down into bands of chocolate brown, deep olive and soft sage, calm and earthy as fields at dusk. On the right, the light lingers: golden yellow warming into tangerine, then a bold stripe of red above a final band of dark earth. Between them, a pale silver column rises through the whole panel like a quiet breath, its sprayed surface soft and luminous. Mandie layered the color in broad, unhurried passes and let the drips fall where they liked, softening every edge. The painting feels like the last hymn of the evening, a gentle grace before the dark.
West-facing windows and golden evening light are made for this canvas. Let it live in a living room, a den or a dining room that comes alive at dusk, with chocolate leather, olive velvet and warm brass picking up its earthy, glowing palette.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
