Fully Alive
Mixed media on panel
12" x 12"
A green fan bursts open at the heart of the panel, its ribbed fronds spreading like a palm leaf or a flower in full bloom, flecked with tiny golden grains that gather at its base. Behind it, a glowing yellow sun rises through the dark, and around everything, a deep cobalt arc curls like a wave, its surface rough and sparkling with texture. A thin flame of red runs along the bottom, and soft violet shadows settle into the slate ground. Mandie built this piece from sprays, pours and gritty layers of pigment, letting each one react to the last in ways she could not predict. It is bursting with vitality, the feeling of being wide awake to every good thing.
Green and growing, this small piece loves a kitchen shelf, a sunny ledge, or a desk where you need a lift. Terracotta pots, trailing plants, and a woven basket nearby make it feel like part of a little indoor garden that thrives all year.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
