Gentle Days VIII
Mixed media on panel
24" x 6"
At the top, all the colors gather shoulder to shoulder in one wide, glowing band: deep blue, navy, green, yellow, orange and red pressed together like old friends. Then, slowly, they let go. Each one trails downward in its own long line, the blue growing fuller and heavier until it settles in a soft pool at the base, the red thinning to a whisper by the time it reaches the bottom. The surface is smooth and lustrous, every edge gently rippled. Mandie poured the band and lifted the panel, letting gravity pull the colors apart at its own pace. It feels tender, a picture of how we drift and still belong to one another.
A lovely gift for a graduation, a wedding or a new home, it marks a moment of moving on together. Hang it in a hallway, a bedroom or above a narrow console, where its full spectrum looks fresh with crisp pale walls and light wood.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
