Mixed media on panel
12" x 12"
Wrapped in bands of color like the most cheerful present, this panel stacks its ribbons in perfect symmetry. Green and cobalt frame the top and bottom, indigo, red and orange move inward, and at the center lies a thick band of golden yellow, its surface pitted with tiny craters like the skin of a lemon. A single indigo dot sits on the yellow like a button or a seal. The ends of each stripe flare, curl and drip, so nothing feels too neat. Mandie poured every line by hand and let it spread and bubble as it dried, delighting in each small imperfection. It feels like an unexpected kindness, bright and full of blessing.
Bright, balanced and full of good cheer, it makes a wonderful present for someone special, or a happy note in a child's room, a craft corner or a kitchen. Its ribbons look crisp on pale walls and sit easily beside colorful books and painted wood.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
