Going With It
Mixed media on panel
11" x 14"
Lines of color drift across the panel the way a day unfolds when you stop fighting it. Navy floats along the top and bottom, green follows close inside, and through the middle golden yellow pools into wide, generous shapes while slim streaks of red and orange slip through like quick, bright thoughts. Here and there a green blot lands softly on top of another color, and small navy drops scatter loose. Some lines run thick and confident, others thin to a thread and simply let go. Mandie poured without a plan and followed the paint wherever it wandered. It feels relaxed and trusting, a lovely picture of the peace that comes with letting things be.
Easygoing and calm, it is a lovely presence in a bedroom, a bathroom or a quiet hallway. Navy and green feel fresh with pale oak, woven baskets, crisp cotton and a trailing plant, creating a relaxed space that invites you to let the day unfold.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
