Gold Among Stones
Mixed media and resin on panel
14" x 14"
A bright path zigzags through this glowing little panel, a slender chevron of gold and deep cranberry edged with tiny pebbles of lilac, slate and blush. On one side, warm amber and honey spread like sunlit sand; on the other, sea green and soft aqua drift like water seen from the air. Over everything, a fine grid texture shows through the glossy resin, as if the whole landscape were viewed through an old window. Mandie set the stones and the bright strip by hand, then poured the resin and let it settle into a smooth, luminous skin. The piece traces a winding journey with treasure tucked along every turn.
Jewel-like and warm, it sits beautifully on a mantel, a console or a small wall in a powder room. Amber glass, cranberry accents and sea green ceramics pick up its palette, while a small spotlight brings out the glint of gold.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
