Golden Refuge
Mixed media on panel
30" x 24" x 2.5"
A soft yellow shape nestles at the center of a blue field, round-shouldered and hooded, with a few small dark marks that give it an almost bird-like face. It sits on a loose sheet of raw canvas, its edges frayed and folded, pinned over a deep teal ground so the whole piece feels like a banner carried from somewhere far away. The color soaks into the weave, misty at its edges, with mint and turquoise glowing inside the gold like warmth held close. Mandie worked the pigment into the cloth and let it bloom and bleed where it would. The image feels sheltered and safe, a small creature tucked out of the weather, glowing softly where nothing can reach it.
A child's room, a guest bedroom or a cozy study would all welcome this gentle, slightly whimsical piece. Its soft yellow form glows against walls of sage or pale blue, and feels natural beside woven baskets, a wool rug and a simple pine dresser.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
