Graffiti Sky
Mixed media on panel
36" x 24"
Deep cobalt fills the panel like a summer night lit by a city, and across it fly shapes of scarlet, tangerine and sea green, as if someone had tagged the sky with color. A crescent of hot pink hovers near the top, soft and sprayed, while drips of orange slide down the right edge in slow, glossy beads. Thousands of tiny splatters of turquoise, navy and white swirl through the center like stars or sea spray. The edges fade into misty white, giving the whole scene a dreamy glow. Mandie threw, dripped and sprayed with street energy and playful freedom, letting chance place each dot. The result is spirited, bold and full of wonder.
Urban and full of energy, it makes a bold statement in a loft, a home office or an open kitchen. Pair it with exposed brick, black metal and a leather sofa, or let it wake up a stark, pale hallway with its electric cobalt and pink.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
