Growing Wild
Mixed media on panel
30" x 24"
Lime green covers the panel like new growth spreading over an old wall, its surface crackled and peeling in places to reveal deep forest green underneath. Across this lively ground, soft clouds of teal, cobalt, gold and rust appear and begin to melt, sending long drips running down toward the bottom edge. Near the center, a round shape of blue and coral swirls like a rose opening in its own time. The textures shift constantly, from flaking crackle to glossy runs and fine spray. Mandie layered and sprayed freely, letting each color bleed and travel as far as it wished. The effect is a garden left to its own devices, flourishing beyond anyone's plan.
Bring the garden indoors. This lively green canvas thrives in a sunroom, a kitchen with a view, or a dining nook filled with potted plants. Terracotta pots, rattan chairs and warm oak shelves draw out its rust and gold, while morning light makes the crackled surface shimmer.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
