Held a Little Longer
Mixed media on panel
24" x 24" x 2.5"
A broad stroke of lemon yellow crosses the panel on a diagonal, thick and textured, wrapped in a soft halo of cobalt like a sunbeam caught and held in place. Behind it, the ground glows in pale seafoam framed by misty blue, and a cloud of turquoise floats at the top, edged with peach and amber. From the cloud, fine threads of navy, aqua and orange fall in long, delicate drips like gentle rain. The yellow is built up in heavy, crusty ridges while the background stays velvety with sprayed color. Mandie combined bold gesture with gravity's quiet patience, letting the drips find their own way. The painting feels like a sweet moment you wish could last.
Sunny mornings and this canvas belong together. Hang it in a kitchen, a breakfast room or a bright home office, where lemon yellow and cobalt can glow against soft gray, and let oak, rattan and blue and white ceramics extend its cheerful spirit.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
