Inner Light
Mixed media on panel
24" x 24"
Warm color pours from the top edge in a long, slow curtain: scarlet, tangerine, rust and gold, each drip running its own path down a deep slate ground. Where the color begins, a crust of chartreuse and olive gathers, grainy and bright. In the center, set against all that movement, a simple white form rests in stillness, two pale strokes meeting at a single point, smooth and clean where everything around it flows. Mandie let the drips fall at their own speed and placed the white with one unhurried pour. The contrast is striking and serene, a glow from within that steadies everything around it.
Evenings are when this painting truly comes alive. Give it a place in a den, a dining room, or a moody study, where slate or charcoal walls, rust leather, and brass candlesticks deepen its warm cascade of scarlet and gold.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
