Innocence
Mixed media on panel
24" x 30"
Simple blocks of color sit side by side like a child's favorite crayons: grass green, lemon, sky blue, navy, sunshine yellow and a deep red. Across them floats a single poured form in bright orange, warm and soft at the core where a yellow glow shines through, its edges frilled and textured where the paint dried in its own time. Along one side, a powdery drift of pale blue scatters like breath on a cold morning. Mandie let the pour spread and settle without interference, honoring wherever it wanted to stop. The painting feels clear, open and unguarded, full of a gentle and trusting delight.
Children and grownups alike respond to Innocence, a natural fit for a child's room, a playroom, or a kitchen with a sense of fun. Bright primary accents, white oak furniture, and a few favorite books echo its crayon bright blocks.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
