Jubilee
Mixed media on panel
36" x 36"
Soft blocks of color tile the panel like a quilt pieced together at a celebration: lemon, magenta, lime, peach, lilac and many shades of blue, each hazy at the edges as though seen through gentle mist. Over them a bright star of cerulean and navy flings out its arms, splashed with yellow and mint at its heart. Thin drips stream down through the blocks, and small splatters fly outward from the center, adding sparkle and movement. Mandie sprayed the soft patches first, then poured the star in quick, exuberant strokes, letting it splash where it landed. The painting rings with happiness, a gathering of every color invited to the same party.
Celebratory and soft at once, it is perfect for a family room, a playroom or a festive dining area. Pair it with a patchwork quilt, colorful cushions and pale oak, or let it lead the room above a cream sofa as a cheerful focal point.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
