Keepsake
Mixed media on canvas
20" x 20"
In the middle of a powdery sky blue field, a little stack of papers has been set down with care. Layers of soft taupe card overlap at gentle angles, scuffed and touched with white, and on top rests a cut shape of pale ivory where a single tulip has been drawn in blush pink and spring green. Faint leaves sketched in pencil peek from the layers beneath. Around it, the blue is dry brushed and grainy, scattered with a few dark specks and tiny marks of yellow. Mandie assembled the collage slowly, keeping the edges raw and honest. It has the charm of a pressed memento slipped between the pages of a beloved book.
Gentle and nostalgic, this collage feels like a cherished memory, lovely in a bedroom, a guest room or a writing study. Powdery blue and soft taupe suit vintage furniture, linen, old letters and treasured objects, creating a tender, personal space.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
