Looking Back
Mixed media on panel
48" x 48"
Memories surface and blur like reflections on a rainy window. Soft clouds of sunflower yellow, cerulean and seafoam float across the panel, with a flash of bright green and a warm peach glow near the top, and dark navy shapes sitting like shadows of familiar faces. Over everything, fine drips of white, blue and gold stream down in a steady veil, softening the forms behind. A long diagonal of deep blue sweeps through the center like a path leading back. Mandie layered spray and pours, then let the final drips fall freely, partly hiding what came before. It is nostalgic and tender, full of light, the feeling of remembering something good.
Near a wall of family photographs, in a family room or a welcoming guest room, this nostalgic canvas feels right at home. Seafoam, sunflower and navy textiles share its palette, while a vintage armchair and a few photo albums add to its warmth.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
