Love Letter
Mixed media on panel
30" x 24"
A heart sits at the center of a silvery field, warm with yellow, peach and rose, its edges feathered in fine combed lines that lift from the surface like the strokes of handwriting. At its heart, a smoky blue swirl stirs, the tender spot every love carries. Thin drips of navy, red and green fall from a jewel-toned band along the top, while a deep blue circle anchors the lower corner and a small yellow moon floats above. Mandie layered, combed and dripped the paint by feel, letting each mark add a line to the message. It reads like words written slowly and sincerely, the kind of letter you keep forever.
Written in color rather than ink, Love Letter belongs above a bed, in a dressing room, or in a soft living room corner. Silver, peach, and rose accents, crisp cotton, and warm lamplight bring out its feathered heart.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
