Missing You
Mixed media on panel
12" x 9"
Two suns, one red and one blush pink, sit beside a third of glowing orange in a lime green sky, and the wood grain of the panel shows faintly through like weathered boards. Below, a dark, rugged mound of teal, navy and rust rises like a hill or a wave, its surface crusted and veined with silvery lace, while golden yellow drips edge in from the right. Mandie built up layer after layer and let them crawl, crack and settle into this rich, uneven skin. The bright colors above feel like happy memories, and the dark weight below carries the ache of someone far away. Bittersweet and honest, it holds longing and love in the same breath.
Tender and nostalgic, this small piece is perfect for a nightstand, a writing desk, or a quiet shelf. Set it near a framed photograph, a wooden keepsake box, or a sprig of dried flowers to make a little corner of remembrance.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
