Mood Swing
Mixed media on panel
10" x 8"
The top of the panel is all sunshine, a sweep of bright lemon flowing into soft slate blue, freckled with teal and pink spatters. Then the weather turns. Below, a heavy mass of royal blue rises in crusted, rocky texture, threaded with lime drips that run down like rain on a window, while a cloud of coral and pink blooms off to the right. The contrast is striking: smooth, airy color above and thick, rugged layers beneath. Mandie poured, sprayed and built up the surface in waves, letting each layer change the mood of the one before. It captures that familiar swing between brightness and heaviness, and the comfort of knowing the sun is never far away.
Playful and a little dramatic, this panel brings energy to a home office, a teenager's room or a kitchen wall that needs some spark. The lemon and royal blue look fresh with white oak, navy textiles and a few bright ceramic pieces on an open shelf.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
