Morning, Unhurried
Mixed media on canvas
48" x 48"
Light pours across this canvas like the first hour after waking, when no one needs anything yet. Soft diagonal bands of blush, teal, coral, dove gray, lavender, cream and peach slide past one another, each blended into the next with fine spray so the edges seem to glow. A sprinkle of tiny specks, some silver and some blue, drifts across the surface like dust in a sunbeam. Nothing is rushed, nothing is loud. Mandie built the layers in slow, misted passes, letting each color soften what came before. The canvas feels like a deep, contented exhale, a gentle blessing on a day that is only just beginning.
Calm and gentle, it is a lovely companion for a primary bedroom or a slow breakfast table. Blush and dove gray walls, cream bedding and a ceramic coffee set suit its soft bands, while morning light through sheer curtains makes it feel even softer.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
