Mosaic of Moods
Mixed media on panel
36" x 24"
Look closer and the panel keeps changing its mind. Pools of lemon, turquoise and coral sit beside crusted patches of ochre, while a dark heart of navy, rust and olive gathers in the middle, its surface pitted and grainy like weathered stone. A pearly white swirl glimmers at the lower left, a ribbed band of chartreuse climbs on a diagonal, and a bright yellow claw curls in the upper corner. Fine black spatter flies across the lower half as if the mood shifted mid sentence. Mandie layered pour over pour, letting each one crack, bead and react in its own way. It honors every kind of day, the sunny and the stormy, as pieces of one whole.
Above a sofa, a console, or a sideboard, this piece rewards every glance with something new. Rust and olive textiles, a leather chair, and mixed ceramics pick up its varied palette, giving a living or dining room depth and character.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
