Nocturne
Mixed media on panel
16" x 12"
Violet dusk deepens into midnight and the whole panel seems to hum a low, slow melody. Columns of indigo, plum and smoky lavender descend side by side, some catching a faint pink glow, others sinking into near black. Near the top, a small patch of warm gold peeks through like a lit window far away. The paint lies glossy and layered, with soft ridges where each pour met the one before it, and fine specks that glint under the light. Mandie set the colors in motion and allowed them to drift down at their own tempo, never forcing a line. It is a painting of tender solitude, the kind of night that soothes rather than frightens.
Hang it where evenings are spent, in a bedroom, a den or a music room, and let its violet hush set the tone. Indigo and plum feel luxurious with velvet, dark walnut and dim lamplight, and that small touch of gold echoes a brass sconce nearby.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
