Ostinato VI
Mixed media on panel
24" x 24" x 2.5"
Glowing like a flame seen through stained glass, a large looping form fills the center of the panel, its body a riot of orange, coral, pink and lemon threaded with veins of deep teal and green. The colors bloom outward into intricate, cell-like patterns, almost botanical, as if something were growing inside them. Behind the form, a pale peach rectangle sends delicate drips cascading down, with lines of blue and pink falling toward the dark gray-green edges. Mandie poured the shape and let the colors react, separate and branch, never quite knowing what patterns would emerge. The piece feels warm, layered and alive, a joyful refrain that keeps unfolding.
Radiant as stained glass, it lights up a dining room, a living room or a bright entry. Warm orange, coral and lemon look stunning against deep navy, and gold accents, warm wood and lush plants enhance its glowing, celebratory mood.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
