Ostinato VII
Mixed media on panel
36" x 36"
Around and around it goes: a great double loop of crimson, sage, coral and marigold circles back on itself in the center of the panel, never quite finishing, never wanting to. Behind it, a pale blue square is curtained with drips of lime, magenta, violet and sky blue, all falling in steady lines like a rhythm kept by rain. The loop is thick and marbled, its reds swirling into pinks and greens where the poured layers met and mingled. A deep navy frame holds everything in place. Mandie let the drips run first, then traced the loop in long, continuous pours, each pass a little different from the last. The painting feels like a song you cannot stop humming, joyful and endlessly returning.
Bold enough to anchor a living room, it brings energy above a sofa or a long console. Repeat its coral and sage in a patterned rug, a few ceramic vases and leafy plants, or let it stand out against deep green walls for a richer, gallery-like effect.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
