Out Loud
Mixed media on panel
24" x 18"
Color shoots across a soft periwinkle sky in long, rising strokes, each one louder than the last. A pale lemon pool, dotted with turquoise cells and laced with violet, leads the way, tipped by a dark purple flourish. Beneath it, red sweeps upward in a bold arc, joined by tangerine, butter yellow, lime, a looping ribbon of cobalt and a final streak of aqua. The ground is lightly sprayed and fine cracks spread through its upper corner like frost on glass. The pours are glossy and generous, beaded with tiny bubbles. Mandie flung and poured with confident speed, trusting each gesture to land where it should. The painting feels like speaking your truth at last, clear, colorful and unafraid.
Bright daylight brings out the full volume of this piece, so a family room, a lively kitchen or a sunny creative studio would suit it well. Periwinkle and lemon feel fresh against pale blue or soft gray walls, with a few bold accents nearby to carry the energy.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
