Pressed Flower
Mixed media
8" x 8"
A soft, rounded bloom opens across a weathered white board, its petals made from countless tiny beads held under clear, glossy resin. Lemon yellow fills most of the flower, warmed by a blush of coral near the top, while a cool sweep of emerald green and a deep violet shadow gather toward the base, as if the petals had been gently folded and kept. Pearly white beads scatter around the edges like dew. Mandie arranged the beads loosely and sealed them, letting the colors bleed and mingle in their own way. It feels like a flower saved from a happy day and treasured long after.
Like a keepsake from a summer garden, Pressed Flower brightens a kitchen shelf, a dressing table, or a guest room. Lemon yellow accents, weathered wood, and a little vase of fresh blooms nearby echo its beaded petals and soft, sunny charm.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
