Reverie
Mixed media on panel
30" x 30" x 2.5"
Wide diagonal bands of teal, slate and misty white cross the canvas like light falling through a tall window, and through them a pale moon carries a small, bright yellow sun. Pools of color float in the space like thoughts that come and go: a long cobalt shape at the top, a splash of turquoise breaking into mint, a mossy green island bubbling with tiny cells, a gold and violet form shimmering at the bottom. A thin river of yellow runs beside them, steady as a melody. Mandie poured each shape freely and let it spread and settle in its own time. The painting drifts the way the mind does in a gentle moment of wonder, light and unhurried.
Give it a room where you can sit with it awhile: a primary bedroom, a study, or a calm living area above a console. Soft gray plaster, pale oak and linen drapes complement its misty bands, while a single brass accent picks up the small yellow sun.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
