Rise Again
Mixed media on panel
20" x 20"
Out of a misty blue and gray sky, a column of yellow and olive pushes upward, crowned by a burst of rust red as if a flame or a sunrise were climbing through cloud. Dark drips and splatters scatter across the panel, and the crest of the form crackles into a fine web of lines. At the bottom, silvery strokes and a long white sweep anchor everything like a shoreline. The layers range from glossy, swirling pours to soft spray and dry dragged marks. Mandie let the paint collide and spread, following where each layer pulled her next. There is resilience in it, the feeling of getting back up again, quietly and with grace.
A daily reminder of resilience, this canvas makes a powerful presence in a home office, an entry or a bedroom. Misty blue and rust look striking against deep olive or soft gray walls, with oak, leather and brass completing a grounded, hopeful setting.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
