Rushing
Mixed media on panel
20" x 10"
Water in a hurry, every current at once. Vertical streams of teal, cobalt, indigo, red, orange, gold and a pale cream rush down the panel side by side, twisting, merging and pulling apart. At the top they tangle in a dense swirl of navy, scarlet and saffron before breaking free and racing toward the bottom edge. The orange and red bands are marbled with fine lacing, while the blues stay smooth and glossy, and a few loose drops escape along the sides. Mandie poured the colors together and stood the panel upright, letting them tumble wherever gravity sent them. The energy is irresistible, full of motion and bright, unstoppable life.
Its tall format and downward rush make it ideal for a stairwell, a narrow hallway or the space beside a bookcase. Bright streams of teal, red and gold bring movement to a quiet corner, especially against crisp white or soft gray walls.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
