Mixed media and resin on panel
24" x 24"
A little sailboat glides home across a teal green sea, its striped hull of cream and charcoal holding steady, its translucent sail catching the last of the wind. Above it stretches a wide band of sand, finely ribbed like the ripples a tide leaves behind, and higher still, a soft sky of sea glass blue where a small golden moon rises, textured and glowing. Everything is calm, the journey nearly complete. Mandie layered painted surfaces, textured paper and cut shapes, building the scene piece by piece and letting each material bring its own character. The painting carries the deep relief of coming back to the people and places you love.
Picture it in a study or a hallway near the front door, a small welcome for everyone who comes home. Weathered oak, a rope basket, and soft blue or sand toned walls suit its coastal ease, and the sailboat gives the room a quiet story to return to.

Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
