Simple Peace
Mixed media on panel
60" x 36" x 2.5"
Pale lemon and soft gold drift down the outer edges like early sunlight, giving way to bright green, aqua and blues that deepen toward the center, where a slender column of dark teal holds everything steady. Small leaf-shaped pools of turquoise and lime float beside the lines, as if petals had fallen into a slow-moving stream. Behind it all, a gentle mist of powder blue settles over the white ground. The paint sits glossy and smooth, with only a few beads and drips where the flow paused. Mandie poured unhurriedly and let each line settle where it would, and the painting arrived feeling still and light. It offers a quiet kind of grace, the calm that comes from letting things be.
Where do you go to rest? A bedroom, a bathroom or a quiet sitting room would suit this calm, fresh canvas. Soft sage walls, pale wood, green plants and a few turquoise accents pick up its leaf-like pools, and morning light makes its gold edges glow.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
