Somewhere, Orange
Mixed media on panel
14" x 14"
On a wide white ground, a loose orange loop circles around and almost closes, then lets itself go, trailing off in drips and dashes to the right. At its heart sits a small dark navy peak with three round dots tumbling away from it, like a thought dropped mid-sentence. High in the upper left, two lime green bars float side by side, bumpy and raised, as if pointing somewhere just out of view. There is so much air here, and every mark feels deliberate and free at the same time. Mandie poured with quick, open gestures and stopped when the space felt right. It is playful and a little mysterious, a daydream about a place you have not found yet.
Living with this piece feels like a small, recurring smile. Its airy white ground and single orange gesture suit a minimal bedroom or a calm home office, where it has room to breathe. Pair it with pale oak, a navy cushion or throw, and a ceramic lamp for an easy, collected look.

The Collections
Pigment breaks loose across the surface, feathered forms climbing through bands of color, caught in the instant before they open all the way.
Paint falls in continuous vertical streams, layer over layer, color caught mid-descent before it ever reaches the ground.
At the edge of the visible world, resin, pigment powders, and luminous forms suggest planetary landscapes no one has named yet.
Immediate, unguarded and alive. Color erupts, gestures cut across fields of pattern, painting as a way of releasing what words cannot hold.
Burlap, plaster, and mixed media hold the memory of surfaces worn by time, artifacts of a history that was never written down.
Pigment flows in channels across white ground, color finding its own path the way water finds a bed to run through.
Pigment pools and cracks across the surface, veined like a lakebed or a membrane, ground still settling into its shape.
